Neste Jaahdytinneste protects the engine and cooling system from corrosion and freezing all the year around. The recommended mixture of the antifreeze concentrate with water: 50% per cent by volume of water, in this case, the frost resistance reaches -36C. The regular antifreeze change ensures continuous cooling system operation. Neste manufacturer recommends to change the antifreeze once per year. Neste Jaahdytinneste does not comprise hazardous for the environment nitrites, amines, silicates, phosphates, and borates. Neste Jaahdytinneste is recommended for use in gasoline and diesel engines. Anti-corrosive substances are efficient only if they are present in the cooling system in a sufficient amount. That is why it is important that the cooling system fluid comprises minimum 40 per cents by volume of the antifreeze. However, there is no need to use more than 60% of the antifreeze as the best frost resistance is achieved at the above mentioned proportion (about - 50°C). Insufficient frost resistance can cause icing which, in its turn, can lead to engine and radiator damages. Melting snow can cause the engine breakdown as it becomes difficult to circulate the cooling fluid which causes engine overheating.
