All this reduces maintenance costs and increases engine operation reliability. Shell Rimula R4 X is suitable for most engines of heavy-duty vehicles (with and without turbocharging), for road and off-road applications and meets the requirements of many auto makers. Shell Rimula R4 X has excellent neutralizing property, reducing acid formation speed and controlling corrosion on the engine bearings. Hazardous acids formed during fuel burning are neutralized by thoroughly selected detergents which helps in prevention of corrosion on metal surfaces. Shell Rimula R4 X ensures excellent protection of the engine from wear in its critical valve mechanism and cylinder liners. Wear reduction is ensured thanks to anti-wear additives which form a protective film between two contacting surfaces and thanks to dispersants which retain the soot particles in the oil.
